The Institute for Development and Social Initiatives "Viitorul" (IDIS) concluded on Wednesday, March 25, the series of trainings dedicated to economic agents from both banks of the Nistru River. These trainings aimed to deepen economic agents' knowledge of creating business plans for sustainable local business development. They also addressed the expansion and consolidation of economic activities carried out at the local level. The trainings took place within the project "Strengthening the resilience of civil society in the Republic of Moldova" implemented by IDIS "Viitorul."

The trainings, eight in number, were held in June, September, and November 2025 and in March 2026. The topics addressed concerned the development prospects of trade between the two banks of the Dniester River and the intensification of exports to the EU; the legal framework and European regulations in international trade in goods and services; steps regarding the development of a business plan for SMEs and individual entrepreneurs; and the business plan as a tool for capitalizing on economic development opportunities.

On Wednesday, March 25, on the last day of training, economic agents from both banks of the Nistru River presented 15 business plans. These agents had systematically participated in training and capacity-building sessions. Their plans aim to modernize existing business infrastructure and equip enterprises with new equipment and machinery. This will increase efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainability in the region. At the same time, these agents will participate in a grant competition organized by IDIS "Viitorul." Through this project, they hope to obtain funding for a component of their business plans and to improve the infrastructure of their existing businesses.

In December 2025, a study visit was held to the "Ungheni-Business" Free Economic Zone. The goal was to strengthen cooperation between actors on both banks of the Nistru River. The visit focused on exchanging best practices, promoting investment, developing economic cooperation, and sharing information on infrastructure and logistics. It also aimed to strengthen trust and dialogue. This visit served not only as an informative experience but also as a strategic tool for encouraging investment and regional integration.

IDIS “Viitorul” is an independent think tank established in 1993 that combines social, political and economic research with strong advocacy components. The institution conducts applied monitoring research in several areas: economics, social policy, EU policies, regional development, and security and foreign policy risks.
