Terms of reference for the selection of media specialists to implement a training programme in the field of combating disinformation and false news
Context
Institute for Development and Social Initiatives (IDIS) "Viitorul" implements the project „Supporting critical thinking and resisting disinformation in the Republic of Moldova”.
The objective of the project is to enhance the capacities of media institutions, civil society organizations and the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Moldova in terms of critical thinking, media literacy, analysis, resistance to misinformation and impartial coverage of public interest information.
The project will select 35 representatives of media institutions, students of journalism faculties and civil society organizations, representatives of the Audiovisual Council, for a comprehensive training programme of 20 sessions.
IDIS "Viitorul" will select experts to cover the following topics / sessions (an expert can cover one or more topics):

Format: offline and online via zoom.
Catering for offline sessions: 1 coffee break.
The selected expert will be responsible for the production of materials to be distributed to the participants (PPPs, working documents, examples, exercises, case studies) to be used in the training sessions, as well as some questions for the questionnaire to assess the capacities of the participants in the training programme.
IDIS will select an expert who has at least five years' experience in monitoring the media and public space for false and biased news. Candidate experts are advised to bear in mind that IDIS expects the sessions to rely less on power point presentations and more on interactive methods such as case studies, practical examples, reflections and Q&As.
